Mitchells Fish Market is expanding to the Mitchells area
The Mitchells fish and chips shop is expanding its footprint in Mitchells-area Halifax, expanding from the nearby Dartmouth Street location to the nearby Watertown Market.
The Mitchells shop, which opened last October, now has more than 400 employees and is the largest fish and chip business in Halifax.
It will also sell fresh fish and snacks, including a new frozen product line that is based on Mitchells own recipes, along with fresh produce and seasonal produce.
Its first store in Halifax will be at 50 Water St., just south of the Watertown Shopping Centre.
“We’ve got an incredible market and we’re excited to be here, opening a store in this area, that is already a popular shopping area,” said Pat McLean, the Mitchell’s general manager.
“It’s really just about growing our brand and building our customer base, so we’re really looking forward to having our customers here and hopefully growing in the future.”
A key factor to the new location is the addition of a new line of products, McLean said.
“We wanted to create a product line for our customers to choose from that we feel will complement their taste,” he said.
In addition to fresh products, the store will sell items such as a fresh bag of fresh produce, Mclean said.
The Mitchell’s Fish and Chips shop is located at 50Water St., Halifax, NSB-8A 0V6, (902) 941-2521.
