Phil’s Fish Market in Chicago’s Wicker Park opens for the first time
Phil’s fish and chips chain is open for business in Chicago as it expands its market presence into a more vibrant neighborhood.
The Chicago-based chain opened in a Wickerpark strip mall in the summer of 2018, and now offers fish and chip shops across the city.
It plans to add a second Wickerparks location in the next couple months.
The chain is expanding its network into more places, and the first new location will open in the city’s West Side neighborhood later this year.
The new location is located in a building with an exterior that is made from recycled materials.
It will serve as a food court and has a full-service grocery store.
The first of the new stores is slated to open in mid-December, with a second slated to be open in late 2019.
The brand, which has locations in Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Miami, has grown from just one location in 2007 to nearly 10,000 locations in the past three years.
In 2018, the chain had a net loss of $3.6 million, according to the most recent quarterly financial report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
It had revenue of $11.9 billion in 2019.
