Trump has ‘great success’ in his business empire, but he still wants to do more
The president of the United States said Thursday he has “great success” in his businesses, but “he still wants more,” in an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd.
Speaking with Todd on the eve of the first day of the president’s first trip abroad since taking office, Trump was asked about his efforts to boost the economy and whether he would be “a better president” if he spent more time in the White House.
Trump said, “I think that I would be a much better president if I spent more of my time in Washington.”
The president was also asked if he could ever have more than three trips abroad a year.
“I’ve done five trips in four years,” he said.
“I’ve traveled the world, I’ve met a lot of people.
But I would never say that I was a better president for doing more of it.””
I think we’ve done a great job,” Trump said.
The president did not offer specific details on his plans to increase the number of trips overseas, but the NBC News article said he “seeks to add three trips to six a year.”
Asked if he had any other plans to add more trips abroad, the president replied: “I’m working on it.”
