What to know about the fire that destroyed a Lawrence fish market

UPDATE 3:45 p.m.

— Lawrence Police are investigating after a blaze destroyed a fresh market on Lawrence Street in Lawrence.

The fire broke out around 10 a.m., near a home on the corner of Lawrence and Walnut streets.

It is still under investigation.

Police say a young woman was inside the home and suffered smoke inhalation.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the Lawrence Fire Department says it is not yet clear if the market was a total loss.

A spokesman for the Fire Department tells us that fire crews are working on a containment plan for the fire.
