Pete’s Market owner: I don’t want to be a scapegoat
Pete said that the company would be happy to help people, but that the people would have to be willing to give up something they enjoy in exchange for a discount.
“We’re not asking for your personal data, but we want to make sure that our service is really helpful and you have fun with us,” Pete told the audience.
Pete’s has received a mixed reaction from consumers who feel that their pets need to be pet-safe.
It’s unclear how much of a discount Pete has gotten, but Pete CEO Matt Lauer said he has had “tremendous success” with the program, with more than 2 million customers.
The show is set to debut next week on NBC.
